We are fortunate to live in a democratic society and it is important to teach our children from a very young age about these values and how we implement them into everyday life. At Pre School this includes installing good manners, encouraging good listening and sharing between peers and growing empathetic characters amongst our children.
We ask the children for their input into the things they like to do at Pre School to ensure their voice is heard. We introduce the children to ‘Colin’s Golden Rules’ because this not only encourages involvement from them but helps them to take ownership of their actions and those of the other children sharing their environment.
Our British Values are:
- Democracy – making decisions together
- Rules of Law – understanding that rules matter
- Individual liberty – freedom for all
- Mutual respect and tolerance – treat others as you would wish to be treated, including tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs.
